Reverse your diabetes – 12 simple steps to follow

Proper knowledge and education about the diabetes is very vital for the diabetics to help control their blood glucose level and hence prevent complications to develop in their bodies, including heart disease, blindness, kidney disease, and nerve damage. Thus there are no worries if one follows a few simple steps and change his lifestyle. Those 12 steps are given below:

1.       Try to reduce the consumption of carbohydrates as hard as possible.

2.       Per meal 45 grams of carbohydrates are more than enough but not more than that.

3.       In snacks you can take a lean protein or unsaturated fat mixed with about 25 grams of carbohydrates, such as fruit with low fat cheese or yogurt with nuts etc.

4.       Fluctuations in the blood glucose levels can be prevented if you try to take carbohydrates very evenly throughout the day.

5.       But your body might not be able to cope with the amount of carbohydrates you are taking in and too know about this measure your blood glucose level before and two hours after taking the meal.

6.       Before a meal, the blood glucose level must be within 90 to 127 mg/dl and within 180 mg/dl after the meal.

7.       You must keep your body’s metabolic activity right, and for that you must eat something after every 3 to 4 hours.

8.       Also do not take the second meal at least two hours after the first meal.

9.       Slowly digested foods are strongly recommended, e.g. brown rice, oatmeal, whole grain bread.

10.   Average of the blood glucose level for the past three months can be found by HbA1C test. So you must go for it regularly and it must be less than 7 %.

11.   Insulin can work very efficiently if you exercise for at least 30 minutes daily. If your body cannot bear heavy work, start from light and exercise for 5 days a week.

12.   Medication, exercise pattern and diet plan is needed to be adjusted regularly according to the body’s condition and doctor is the one to do this all. So, visiting a doctor on regular basis is extremely important.

Diabetes can be nicely managed and even can be reversed if the above mentioned steps are properly followed by managing your diet, exercise, medication and stress level. Hence, everything is up to you and no magic pills or secret formulas can do this for you.
